It’s 2026: My First Blog Post

This marks the very first post of my first year at QuinnieJanet.com.

Although this space is new, I’m no stranger to the online world. I work in the weddings sphere. For over 13 years, I’ve worked in that industry from the ground up through my own business, watching it slowly grow and mature over time.

And honestly, I’ve loved almost every bit of it.

Working from home, creating with my hands, helping people celebrate meaningful moments — it has been such a memorable chapter of my life.

I wouldn’t say that I’m anxious or terrified but I’m really excited. I’ve found myself wanting to deepen what I do in a more reflective and lifestyle-centered way- that is more in tune with living more thoughtfully and in a slower paced way.

Less pressure. More meaning. More thoughtfulness.

This space was created to share my love for becoming a better woman little by little, thoughtful home living, vintage style, florals, hospitality, and the quiet details that make everyday life feel beautiful.

I will be sharing my sewing experiences as a beginner along the way.

The funny thing is… I’ve actually tried to start something like this before.

But I second-guessed everything.

The writing.
The photos.
The colors.
The direction.

I changed the angles constantly.

I kept waiting for everything to feel “perfect” before fully beginning.

Not anymore.

This site is being built slowly, block by block, and I’m allowing myself to enjoy the process of watching it evolve over time as I refine my hobbies and the soak in the new things I take in along the way. So changes will definitely come along the way.

A few days ago while driving home, I noticed a billboard outside of a local advertising company with a quote by Mark Twain that read:

“Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.”

I laughed to myself because it felt strangely personal.

As if I needed the reminder.

So I told myself:

“Quinnie, stop trying make everything just right or you’ll never allow yourself to begin.”

And so… here I am.

I look forward to curating and learning to sew vintage and classic styles, as I channel my love of 1950s dresses. And I look forward to sharing recipes I love , pictures of pretty things and sharing thoughtful reflections with you.

More than anything, I hope this space gently inspires you too in more ways than one.
